EXPLANATION
Participants are being asked to guess the values of each of the above prevailing at the date in question. Please note that we are referring to the 'spot' market. So, for example, in the case of Question 1 (the FTSE 100), we are looking for the closing price of the Index itself NOT of the FTSE Future;
By spot we mean the current price at which a particular commodity, index or
exchange rate can be bought or sold in the market place.
To repeat: Simply guess where each index/ commodity / currency will be trading at closing on 31 January 2008!
JOKER COMPETITION
For those of you with strong convictions about one particular question, there is an additional prize on offer. In order to enter the Joker
competition, simply colour your preferred question and the prediction in RED in the spreadsheet. The winner of this will be the candidate whose guess on their Joker question most closely matches the closing price as of closing on 31 January 2008.
RESULTS AND PRIZES
Once you have entered your predictions for the above prices, you will not
be able to change them. Predictions will be analysed and the 1st prize will
go to the candidate with the smallest deviation from all the actual prices at market close on 31 January 2008.
Citi will be holding a special presentation at the beginning of February to give the prizes to the winners. More details on the date and venue will be sent nearer the time.
This competition is geared towards encouraging students to increase their
interest in many of the various financial markets in which Citi is active.
A number of Citi's top analysts will also be entering the quiz alongside all of us, lets see how we compare!
Please do not hesitate to get in touch with secretary@cuic.co.uk if you need any
additional information.
On behalf of Citi and CUIC, we look forward to receiving your predictions.
Good Luck!
