History

CUIC was founded in 2001 and has risen to become the prime investment society at the University of Cambridge. The club is student-run under the patronage of the Centre for Financial Research at the Judge Business School.

Strong performance and expanding membership over the last 6 years have contributed to a very successful period for the club. We are now open to both undergraduate and post-graduate students (including MBAs) of the University of Cambridge interested in financial markets, company & market analysis and all types of investments.

Involvement in the club’s Investment Fund is open to all members and has proven to be one of the most exciting activities. Significant exposure to career opportunities in finance and banking is also available. The club’s purpose is to strengthen its members’ knowledge and understanding of financial markets, the finance profession and investment strategies.

Since its inception in 2001, CUIC has been growing continuously and now as over 1000 student members that reflect the diversity of the society. About 45% of members read finance, economics and management, 30% come from a science, mathematics or engineering background and 10% from law, political and social sciences. The CUIC membership are unified by a keen interest, and unparalleled exposure to the field.
